Because it's Cool

A solution to cleaning without chemical cleaning solutions. Supposedly Activeion takes regular tap water, applies an electrical charge that, in the end, creates an oxygen-rich cleaning solution that kills 99% of bacteria - that’s pretty damn good for water, and pretty damn cool!

This has been used for years, but not at the home consumer level. And I’m guessing it won’t catch on until they make the technology even more affordable. Right now the HOM version is $170 (about half the price of the professional cleaner). However, it does last 5 years, which most likely won’t make up for the price of buying other cleaners, but if you really want to have a chemical-free home, the investment might be worth it.
