Because it's Cool |
Do not over think it. This is a mixed bag of things I find and like, and sometimes love. |
This saying has been around for a while, but this take on it is fresh and smart. The typography is made from thrown away items with the five basic needs of humans in mind: water, food, health, a home, and energy. I wish I could see this more close up to see what every letter is made of, but even without getting into the details, it’s automatically understood - which is genius advertising.

No, it doesn’t have a head that bounces back and forth.
The bobble is a water bottle that has its own filtration system built in. I love the bottle I already have (I’ll post on that later, because it’s too cool to ignore), but I’d consider getting this as an alternative. What’s unique about this bottle is that if you are on the go and 1) don’t want to buy bottled water and 2) don’t want to drink tap water, you don’t have to. That 2nd benefit is the true selling point, because other popular water bottles don’t have this feature.
Design-wise the bobble looks okay; I think they could have pushed it a bit further. But the technology is well worth overlooking design. Perhaps we’ll see something better for the 2nd generation.
P.S. It’s made from recycled material.
This is the crappiest notebook I have … literally. When I was at the Good and Green conference in Chicago late last year I found out about Mr. Ellie Pooh. Sound strange? Well, it is. From journals to wedding invitations, they are making quality paper products out of a mixture of elephant dung and post consumer paper.
The brilliance of this operation out of Sri Lanka is how it has changed the attitudes of the people living in the community. Before, Asian elephants in Sri Lanka were being killed not because of their ivory or hides or meat, but because they would eat or crush farmland, a vital source of income. They were a farmers worst enemy. So how did this paper operation overcome this big problem? Check out the story at http://www.mrelliepooh.com/aboutus.html, and show some support by buying something (http://yhst-29969161445021.stores.yahoo.net/index.html). If you do, you can consider yourself “the shit.”
